My name is Tim Wilson, and I’m the proud owner of Moonbow Auto Spa. I’m a US Navy veteran, a 24-year IT industry veteran, and someone who has been passionate about cars since I was old enough to hold a polishing cloth.

How It Started

My passion for detailing started around 7 or 8 years old, helping my dad polish and wax his 1978 Chevy Impala. What began as time spent together turned into something much deeper. He taught me the value of taking care of a vehicle, paying attention to the smallest details, and taking pride in a job well done. That foundation stuck with me for life.

Building the Skill

After serving in the Navy, I kept caring for my own vehicles with that same dedication. A neighbor noticed and encouraged me to take it further. That led me to his Ziebart shop in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where I spent a year and a half refining my skills in full interior and exterior detailing. That experience confirmed what I already felt. I love bringing vehicles back to life.

Years of Experience

I spent 24 years in the IT industry, including time with AMD and Intel, but detailing never left me. I kept coming back to it for friends, family, and myself. There’s something deeply satisfying about taking a vehicle that looks worn, dull, or neglected and making it look new again.

Why Moonbow Auto Spa Exists

After being laid off in 2023, I made a decision. I left California, moved to Corbin, Kentucky, and chose to build something I actually cared about. I had a detailing bay built on my property, opened by appointment only, and named the business after one of the most rare and beautiful natural phenomena in Southeast Kentucky. The moonbow at Cumberland Falls only appears under the right conditions. Worth seeking out, if you know it’s there.
